“The tone of the debate is going to change for sure,” said Enrique Pumar, chair of sociology at the Catholic University of America. “I truly believe that when the Pope comes, and he talks about immigration and he talks about his vision of having compassion and generosity and solidarity with others, I think that is going to open an opportunity for more moderate points of view to come and articulate a similar message.”
